Gold Label Cosmetics Matte Lip Pens

goldlabelHello beautifuls!

I have just found a new cosmetics line that I knew nothing about. Feel like I was the only one that didn’t know about this little secret on Instagram.

Gold Label Cosmetics has just released a new matte lip pen. I must tell you it is defiantly a product you want to add to your makeup collection. If you are on the search for the perfect matte, you don’t want to miss out on these.

These beautiful matte pens retail for $20, come in a gold package with a wide range of colors and some fun names to match. I tried the colors Trust Fund(Classic Red), 2006  Malbec(deep purple) and Social Diary(lavender).   These lip pens are vegan, gluten free and paraben free. They are highly pigmented, so a little goes a long way. They dry pretty quick and I must warn you they last for quite some time I had a bit of a struggle to get them off. But just add some Vaseline or lip conditioner over your lips to help get the product off.

The shipping was quite quick took about three days to receive that is a plus but not a guarantee that it will arrive so fast for your order. I also receive quick response from customer service when I had any questions.

I would defiantly recommend you give these a try for yourself.  They also have a great range of lipsticks that I will be reviewing soon. But if the matte pens are great I’m sure the lipsticks are just as great too. So check out the website goldlabelcosmetics.com and check out their Instagram page (@goldlabelcosmetics)for more updates. Can’t wait to see what comes next from this line.

Bhcosmetics Shaaanxo Palette Review

12822528_1094669530584456_663966619_n

Hey my beautifuls, hope you all are well. I just received my new palette from Bhcosmetics. Its a collaboration with YouTube beauty guru Shaaanxo.

This palette includes 9 eye shadows on one side and 9 lipsticks on the other. Very cute pink packaging and the first double side palette I own. I received the palette very quickly, that fastest any package from bhcosmetics has come for me. I am very impressed with how soft the eyeshadows are and the color variety is very nice. more on the warm to cool side. The lipsticks I was not very pleased. The colors don’t really work too well for my skin-tone. Some of the lipsticks I tried out in my YouTube video hit the pan right away when i put my lip brush into them. They are not very pigmented and look more like a lip-gloss or lip stain than a lipstick. The palette as a whole is okay. I will get more use out of the eyeshadows then the lipstick side. Which I am fine with because I bought it for the eyeshadows anyway.

The price is $14.50 on bhcosmetics.com and you can check out swatches of the eyeshadows and lipsticks in my YouTube video below!bhcosmetics

Life Happens: I’m Back!

Have been going thru a lot over these first three months of the new year. Its only the beginning of 2016 and I have felt like this new year just has it out for me! That was my feeling for a while I will admit but now things have changed. You just never know what can happen if you just keep faith and passion for your goals in your heart and mind.

I have been thru a lot in my 29 years here on earth, been thru worse than now. I have came far on my journey to try to figure out what my purpose in MY life is. From being kicked out my moms house to living in my car. To almost losing my son and having no money to the point of no food for a few days. I have been thru a lot.

I want to share my story and advise with everyone and just remind you all that Life Happens. We can’t control what each day has in store for us. We sometimes plan things out and they don’t go as planned. No need to beat yourself up, just take a deep breath and try again. You won’t always be on the bottom ground believe me I know!

In my video I give the real reason why I haven’t been so active lately and hopefully this will be a new beginning for me to be more active. I really have so much to share with the world and show. I will let my video do the speaking for me.

Hope I can grow with you all and help you move on to new levels in your life!

                                                                           Why I have been gone

My January 2016 Fave & dislike

Hello #beautifuls, can you believe the first month of the new year is ending already??

I am very excited because I am looking forward to turning the big 3-0 in March, and spring. I have had enough of the snow for now. Back on topic. I have two items to tell you about, one I liked and one I was not to found of.

First up lets start with the good. So I am a frequent drugstore shopper especially for cosmetics. My makeup collection is mostly drugstore items, I like to save as much money as I can. My liked item for this month is the Black Radiance Perfect Tone Lip Definer in the shade “Chocolate”.  20160131_130958

I cant believe all this time I just walked right past this item without trying it. I was looking for a brown lip liner and saw this duo and figured I would try it out. Its under $3  and the color is so pigmented and rich. The lip liner and lip color just glide right on your lips. I have never had a lip liner that was so smooth in its application like this before. The formula is so smooth and creamy, very light on the lips. I am planning to go back to try out the other shades.20160131_122518-1

For my dislike, I have to go with The Brow Architect by Tarte.

20160131_122337

I got this item in a Essence beauty box in the fall and never used it. I finally decided to give it a try and wish I would have just left it in the box. I was really disappointed. The brow color was okay but when I tried to fill in my brows the shape tip hurt. It was really hard and scratched my brow a little.20160131_124907

The define powder was horrible too, it had a lot of fall out.20160131_124712

I was really not impressed with this product and think its way over priced. So happy I got it in a box and didn’t pay full price out of my pocket. This is the first item I have tried from Tarte, but in the future I may try something else. I wont let this bad item speak for the rest of the Tarte line of products.

What items have you tried and liked or disliked so far? Tell me why below.

I hope you all have enjoyed your new year so far, see you next month!

MUAintraining: Makeup look of the day

Covergirl, Jeffree Star Cosmetics, Too Faced Cosmetics, Maybelline, Wet n Wild, Sleek Makeup and ELF makeup brushes

 Happy weekend #beautifuls!

For today’s makeup look I went with a few new items from my local Walmart. I also used a few online items I have heard about and finally gave a try. For my foundation I went with the Maybelline Super Stay Better Skin in “Coconut(95)”. It felt really great on my skin very good coverage, matched my skin-tone perfectly. I used the Maybelline Master Conceal Camouflaging concealer in shade “medium/deep” to cover my dark under eye area. This blended in really well, it came out a bit too light but after powder was added it made my dark under eye area disappear!

I added Wet n Wild’s Fergie “Take On The Day” powder to my under eye to catch any fallout while working on my eye-shadow. I used the Covergirl tru naked “Roses” pallet(815) using all the shimmer shades. With “Champagne” as the base and “Rose Gold” mixed with “Dusk” on the center and “Mousse” added to the outer corner, crease, and lower lash line. The Maybelline Master Graphic liquid liner in “striking black” gave my eyes a bold cat-eye look. The triangle tip is something new to me, first time trying but with a steady hand and practice I’m sure any look can be achieved. To finish my eyes off I used Too Faced Cosmetics very popular “Better Than Sex” mascara.

I gently dusted my cheeks with Covergirl tru blend blush in “Deep Mauve(305)” a beautiful shade for medium/deep skintones. Finished up my flawless look with Sleek translucent powder in shade Deep(287). I gently dust it all over my face and jawline.   Before I added my lipstick I prep my lips with Jeffree Star velour lip scrub in “Strawberry Gum”. This scrub smells great and if it gets in your mouth its okay because its edible. Just put on lips and rub together, than use a warm towel to remove. So for the final touch I added Covergirl Queen Collection lipstick in shade “Jubilee”. Its a great bright red that will really make your lips pop and be the center of attention. All items were applied with ELF makeup brushes.

Have a great weekend #beautifuls

The Real Betty Boop

A quick history lesson:

Fabric I made for my online store with image of black Betty for sale this spring

The original Betty Boop is a black woman named Esther Jones who worked in the Cotton Club in Harlem in the 1920s. The picture below is Helen Kane who stole the act and persona from Jones who decided to sue Kane.

Jones provided recordings of the voice and act to prove she was the originator of Betty Boop. Although Jones won the lawsuit as the originator and was awarded $250,000 for infringement rights, she never collected because she died in 1934 right around the time the lawsuit was ending.

New Year, New Missions

20150530_153514

So I really had to take a break from everything to figure out what it is I wanted to put out there to the world. I have taking way more time than i planned on taking. I feel it needed to be done we all have to clear our heads sometimes. I don’t believe in the New Year resolutions because not too many usually stick to it anyway.

So instead I have planned and mapped out a timeline for myself and for my business. This year will be the year to really brand myself and get my business on a stable track. No more long breaks and no more taking bad advice from people who know nothing about having a business. My goal and mission for this year is to show support to as many small business as  I can. I want to learn and grow and educate myself on the things I don’t know before I ask questions or ask for any help. I feel there is no greater feeling than resolving your own issues and finding a solution on your own.

So to all my fellow entrepreneurs and small business owners, I hope we can all show support to one another. And encourage each other to be on a better path. Its never to late to start something new and go after your goals. I don’t want to have any regrets this year because I had NONE last year.

First stop on my list is re-branding my business so I can introduce it to a wider audience.

Hope to see you all at the top! Happy New Year!

Rhinestone shoes and supplies

IMG_20150119_050134

I have been doing shoes for a year now. And I usually get two main questions. 1. “What do you use to keep them on?” and 2. “Where do you get your stones from?” So I decided best way to answer it is just do a quick simple video going over my supplies and a few tips. If you plan on doing your shoes with rhinestones send me a pic to my Facebook page: Facebook.com/juicypinups. I love seeing others creativity. Hope you like the video if there are any questions that I missed please comment and I will get back to you. Enjoy!

Its rough in the Online retail world: But hang in there

glasses

My second pair of glasses I sold

I have always wanted my own business. I have worked in retail for years, and it has been quite an experience. I have learned a lot from my time working in retail and I decided that it would be a good idea if I started my own retail business. Starting out online would be a big step for me and I knew it would be hard, but i had no idea how hard it would be. I make my own creations from clothes to shoes and I do jewelry too. So I got my business cards and my products and set up shop on Etsy and my website under my business name. I was getting so many compliments and good reviews that I decided to work with some wholesalers to add more to my websites. Things were good till the reality began to set in. Even though so many people like up all my post and say that product you made is nice, they don’t buy. I just kept trying to figure it out: I get all these likes and followers but no one is buying, whats the problem? Then I realized it truly is a rough world out the in the entrepreneur field. I joined a few groups on Facebook and asked a few other sellers for some advice and if the could look at my sites and give me an honest opinion when they look at them.

The advice I got was simple but something I didn’t think to do or notice.  I had to improve my pictures, improve my business cards and promote as much as I could wherever I could. Looking back at it, I have come along way. I’m not the best photographer but I try since I cant afford a new camera I make a light box from white cardboard I got from Walmart and use my camera phone to just shoot away. And surprisingly enough the pictures have been coming out better than the last phone I had. I also add more detail to my listings, for some reason customers like a lot of info to be given on the product, as much info as possible. From weight, height, length and colors as much info as you can give the better.

Promotion starts with a good business card. I must admit my first business card was just a bunch of words. I had no idea how important the business card was. So the second time around I updated it with my logo and my info for customers to see my shop and get in touch with me for custom orders. Second part of promotion is social media.

My first business card

My new business card with my logo

Doesn’t matter what kind of business you have everyone is into the social media world, and its one of the best ways to get found. I have joined about 20 groups on Facebook that are just for promotion and it has boosted my views and helped me get my first customer. I even started my Facebook page for my business and I have 3 Google+ pages for my business and a YouTube channel so viewers can see what I have to offer and where I do my giveaways. I also have twitter and try my best to keep all my social media sited up to date so that people know that I am active and that I AM my business. It is hard and I don’t have a hundred sales yet but I know in time I will get there. It takes time and patience, and the go-getter attitude. But at the end of the day its doing what I love and I won’t give up and I hope you don’t give up on anything either.

you can check my websites out and my other social sites, have any advice please do tell!
